What's new in Wikka 1.1.6.5 ?
Released on June 24, 20081.1.6.5 is a maintenance release that includes no new functionality. The release addresses a couple of minor issues in 1.1.6.4, including:
- Some PHP5 compatibility issues;
- Cleanup of error and informational messages in several actions;
- More robust cookie handling;
- A simplified installer; and
- Valid XHTML output.

What's new in Wikka 1.1.6.4 ?
Released on 20 March 20081.1.6.4 is an interim release focusing on administration functionality and antispam tools, and includes a number of new features, security enhancements and bug fixes.
A. New administration modules
- User administration module (accessible via the AdminUsers system page) to manage Wikka users.
- Page administration module (accessible via the AdminPages system page) to manage pages and perform several maintenance operations on wiki pages (including mass reversions).
B. New antispam functionality
- New config option to disable new user registrations.
- New reversion handler to allow rollback of page versions to previous versions.
- Module for mass user deletion (via the UserAdministration panel).
- A new lightweight user registration framework to facilitate creation of plug-in modules for registration validation schemes. Default install includes the URInviteCode module that requires new users to enter an invitation code. See UserRegistrationValidationFramework for instructions on how to enable this and future UR modules.
C. Security enhancements
- System version information now hidden to all but admins.
- All Wikka releases (zipfiles and tarballs) are now distributed with digital signatures and checksums.
- More secure handling of file attachments.
D. New features and improved functionality
- A faster, fully redesigned editor toolbar (WikkaEdit) with more Wikka-specific functionality and improved cross-browser compatibility.
- Revision numbers are now displayed in recentchanges, page comparison, revision lists and page history.
- {{dbinfo}} A simple admin-only action to provide information about the structure of the database and tables used in Wikka.
- New {{wikkaconfig}} action displaying the system settings for the current wiki (accessible via the SysInfo page).
- Improved {{highscores}} action, displaying top contributors ranked by pages owned, edits or comments.

What's new in Wikka 1.1.6.3 ?
Released on May 7, 20071.1.6.3 is a security release. The Wikka Dev Team has recently decided to parcel out this release from the main development line of 1.1.7 to address a number of security issues. These include a native PHP bug (i.e. not a Wikka bug) affecting virtually any PHP application running on PHP<5.2, that was brilliantly patched thanks to the joint efforts of the Wikka and GeSHi developer teams.
The list of potential security issues addressed in 1.1.6.3 is available on this page. Wikka users are strongly recommended to upgrade to 1.1.6.3.

1. Filename support for code blocks
An optional filename parameter for code blocks can now be specified, to be used by the code download handler.
2. On-the-fly code block downloading
Code blocks inserted in a wiki page can now be downloaded on-the-fly using the "grab" button.
3. New formatters for syntax highlighting
Bundled GeSHi (version 1.0.7.10) adds support for 68 programming/markup languages.
4. Search & replace handler
A javascript handler allows searching and replacing specific strings within a page.
5. System information actions
Detailed system information is displayed through dedicated actions.
6. RSS autodiscovery
Feeds for recent page revisions and recent changes are now recognized in browsers that support autodiscovery and, of course, feed readers.
